Instagram is a very cool App, and it will be. But I am giving up. Because it gives me too much pressure.
I have taken 180 pictures, and get 1,210 follower in instagrm till now. Most of the pictures were taken one month ago. And my last picture was taken in 6 days ago. When I ran it tonight, I found those users that I followed do not update many times a day as months ago, just like me.
Instagram was both cool and warm. The filter is really cool, but to those cell-phone user like me, it means more. Cell-phone Camera can not take very cool pictures, I am very clear about it. It is fair, otherwise 5D Mark II should be cheaper than iPhone. But those filters of instagram do me a big favor, they can make pictures taken by cellphone seems better than usual. It is really warm, the product seems trying to help me to do something better.
But it seems that Instagrm team thinks different. The Instagram Guys maybe want a flickr for cell-phone. I hate the hotest column, which is full of digital camera nuts’ pictures. It seems to say: “Hey! Get away before you get a REAL CAMERA.! ” Come on, I just want to take some pictures, and use filters to make them looks better, then share them with my friends. I am not a photographer, and I don’t have time to transfer my digital pictures to my iphone4.
The digital camera guys have flickr already, Why instagram again?
For me, it is more important to share some shabby pictures with my friends. OK., those are totally rubbish, but those do mean a lots to my friends. They don’t care about the moments, colors, shapes and compositions. They just care about me as I just care about them.
Instagram always gives me a kind of hint---Take good picture or shut up. Sharing good pictures only is a hard job to me, and I don’t think it is what my cell-phone most suitable to do. Instagram is getting more and more like a Picture-RSS-Reader to me. I spend more and more time on it to browse rather than shoot. But wait, why should I use instagram to browse pictures? My computer can do this better.
Let those photographers and photographers-to-be to use instagram, it is not my cup of tea. I am leaving now.
